This large house belongs to a leading Eye Surgeon of Nashik city. It is situated on a 4 Acre land on the outskirts of the city. The idea was to give a farmhouse like feel to the residence, justified by its location, surrounded by greenery on all sides. Basically a simple RCC frame structure capped by sloping steel roof with mangalore tiles. A long road leads to parking , the structure is hid behind the lawn mounds of around 2.5 M height. Then as one walks along the pathway with dead walls & jails few glimpses of the bungalow are seen. A small foyer welcomes you with a waterbody on left with Lord Ganesha. The house revolves around a open to sky square court. This court is the main focal point as all public areas open out with views of the court. To accentuate the authentic court feel, old wooden columns were brought from south India. This breathing court helps to maintain the temperature of the house all throughout the year. Additional multipurpose, covered transition spaces were added in the form of long verandahs on the North & West. One can enjoy the splendid views of the evening sky in this deep shaded cozy verandah which opens out to the lawn area on the West. A covered pavilion is also housed around this lawn for outdoor parties etc.
